(Maxxis) How long have you been racing?
Since I was 6 years old, my first race was the Adelanto GP in 2006.

What was your first bike?
I had a PW50, for some reason my parents let me spray paint it purple, looking back, it was pretty lame.

Who in racing do you look up to?
I looked up to my older brother Joey growing up and when he raced. Anyone who gives it all they have at every race and makes no excuses is also someone worth looking up to.

Tell us about your 2009 deal with Precision Concepts.
Riding for the Northland Motorsports / Precision Concepts Team has really been a blessing this year. They are a great group of guys and really motivate me to do my best. We landed some of the best sponsors out there and my bikes are working better than anything i've ridden in the past.

What is your favorite place to race/ride?
I grew up in Lake Isabella, Ca and the riding is awesome up there. The best place to race is the Kernville Motocross Track when it’s groomed, there is no better moto track on the planet!

Why do you like the WORCS Series?
The WORCS series is good because it brings out so many top riders along with the manufacturers. I would like to see WORCS grow and get the television coverage that the GNCC's get, but right now it is the best off road series the West Coast offers.

You also race the Maxxis Endurocross, why do you like that series?
The Maxxis Endurocross is my favorite series of the year. It is spectator friendly and more exciting than any racing out there! The racing requires a lot of technical skill unlike some of the WORCS races where it is just who wants to hang it out the longest.

You've been with Maxxis for a few years now, what do you like about Maxxis?
Maxxis is one of the best sponsors I've had in my racing career. Everyone I've worked with in the company is super nice and helpful. They've taken care of me really well and no other tire company compares to the race support Maxxis offers.

What is you're favorite Maxxis tire(s) and why?
The Maxxis tires of choice for me are the SM front and the IT rear. People criticize me for running the SM front everywhere, but I wouldn’t run it if it didn’t work. I am really picky with front tires and I am more confident with the SM front on my bike than any other tire on the market. The tire blows your mind through mud, sand and loose dirt, and is very predictable through the hard pack and the rocks. There are very few races this year where you'll catch me without the SM front on my bike! As for the rear, you can't go wrong with the IT. The traction is insane and the durability is ridiculous!

Tell us something about Jamie Lanza that most people don't know.
Hmmm.... well most people probably don’t know I have an AA degree in Liberal Arts and go to school full time.

What do you drive?
GMC Sierra, fully stock!

What is you're best freestyle trick?

I've been doing a lot of pointers lately, I've been working on another trick called the "Flat Lander" (patent pending), It’s when you come into a jump with way too much speed and forget to scrub, for the trick to be an official "Flat Lander" you have to land at least 20 feet past the bottom of the landing or on the face of the next lip.

Who is/was the best racer of all time?

I'm going to have to go with Carmichael, not necessarily being the fastest man at the track, but being able to perform to the best of your ability week in and week out clearly makes you the best racer of the current time in my book.

Who are your sponsors this year?
Northland Motor-Sports, Precision Concepts, Monster Energy Kawasaki, Maxxis, BRP, IMS, FMF, AP Brakes, DT1 Filters, Renthal, Hyde Racing, Rekluse, Shoei, Moose, Smith, Zip-Ty Racing, Alpinestars, CTi, Acid Zapper, Trek Bicycles
